For races whose permit application is received by the district

<Open races; Except for international events, an additional fee of $25
per day of racing is charged for an open race permit
that is applied for at least 30 days before the event;
thereafter, the fee is $50 per day of racing.

international race fee of $400 plus $100 per day of racing is
charged for any race in which representatives of foreign national
federations compete.
If placement of the event on a UCI calendar is refused, this fee

<Entry fee; Entry fees for professional riders in open or invitational
events may be set at the discretion of the promoter.
In races with prizes of no market value (trophies, medals, ribbons, and
the like) the entry fee shall be set at the discretion of the promoter.
In all other cases,
the maximum entry fee, not including surcharges, that may be charged
an amateur for entering a race is determined by the prize list value for that
particular race:

(1) For single day events, if the prize list value is:

(2) For multiple day events, the maximum entry fee is found by first
dividing the prize list by the number of days.
This result is applied to the table for single day events given above,
which yields a maximum that is multiplied by the number of days.

<Surcharges; Entry fees for Federation races may include a
surcharge to support a district association that is a member club of the
Federation @provided that the district association surcharge is applied

has been widely distributed in the district at least 20 days before the

<Championship entry fees; An entry fee of $5.00 for each road event and
$2.00 for each track event is charged for district and national
championships.

<Prize list up to $2,000; The number of places that receive prizes in each
event must be at least one for every $100 in total prize value for the
event up to $2,000.
<Prize list of $2,000 or more;
For each race with over $2,000 in prizes there must be prizes to at least
20 places and the values for second and following places must be at least
the following fractions of the first place prize: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6,
etc.; larger fractions are recommended.

<Maximum prize; The maximum value that can be accepted by an amateur rider
is $1000 per day of racing, including primes.
In a stage race, an amateur may not accept total winnings in excess of
$1,000 multiplied by the number of stages, including any prologue.
No merchandise prizes in excess of this amount may be offered, although larger
cash prizes are permitted.

The entire value in excess of the maximum must be transmitted by check to
the Federation via the chief referee.
Excess prizes won by riders competing as members of the national team
shall be used to support members of the national team.
Other excess prizes shall be remitted to the rider's club, if any,
provided the club is in good standing.

<Penalties; A rider who accepts winnings in excess of the maximum may lose
the right to compete as an amateur.
A promoter who fails to transmit any excess
winnings to the Federation on the final day of the race shall be fined
20α% of the amount due.

<Scholastic elegibility; It is the athlete's responsibility to be aware
of scholastic eligibility requirements and act accordingly with respect
to the acceptance of prizes.

All appeals (Bylaw {[1] appealref}) and certain race protests (Racing
Rule {[2] protestref}) must be accompanied by a deposit ($20.00 for an
appeal, $5.00 for a protest), which will be forfeited to the Federation if
the protest or appeal is not allowed.

<Rider expenses; A rider may accept or have paid on his or her behalf,
but may not demand, reasonable payment for travel, food, or lodging
expenses @provided that all such payments are made through the rider's

District representatives shall receive:

Representatives must submit quarterly expense reports to the Federation.
Rebates shall be paid upon approval of the expense report.
Complete district championship results must be submitted before the
quarterly rebate will be paid.

<Officials fees; The promoter shall pay licensed officials a per diem fee
based on the total value of the prize list plus the cost of reasonable and
necessary travel.
The promoter shall also provide basic housing and meals when overnight
lodging is necessary.

One official may be assigned to each race in an apprentice role and will
receive reimbursement for travel; food and lodging when an overnight stay
is required; but no additional fee.

For stage races or series races (where series prizes are offered), the
officials daily fees shall be determined as above based on the total prize
list, including daily and final prizes, divided by the number of days
of racing (including any prologue), then a surcharge of 20α% of this
fee shall be added.

@At multiday race meets that include non-racing days, officials who are
away from home shall be provided housing and meals and shall be paid
the minimum fee for non-racing days.

Compensation for officials at the national championships shall be set and
published by the Technical Commission.

<Appeal jury fees;
Members of race juries of appeal shall be paid by the promoter at the
same rate as "other officials", above.
Juries that meet at other times and places shall be paid only reasonable
and necessary travel expenses by the Federation.

<Travel expenses; Individuals traveling on approved, official business
on behalf of
the Federation shall be reimbursed normal and actual expenses including
air coach fare or 20 cents/mile for travel by personal automobile, whichever
is less.
More restrictive arrangements may be specified by the budget authority.
